WSUMC Stewardship Campaign: Called to CARE
“The Spirit has given each of us a special way of serving others.” (I Corinthians 12:7)
Greetings!
We hope you and your loved ones are doing well. This past week, we launched our annual stewardship campaign, themed on the Vision Statement of the United Methodist Church: Love Boldly, Serve Joyfully, Lead Courageously.
Washington Street United Methodist Church lives out this vision. Our congregation puts into practice, as offered in Micah 6:8 and Acts 2:44-47, a world where communities thrive through justice, generosity, and shared life. We encourage you to take time over the next few weeks to read our Ministry Menu and consider ways you can Love, Serve, and Lead by using your time and talents in volunteer ministry. We offer an incredible variety of service opportunities.
To carry out our many ministries, we must anticipate the financial and volunteer resources available. So, in addition to sharing your time and talent, we ask you to include a pledge of financial support for calendar year 2027. Your time, talent, and financial pledge will help our church leadership teams determine how best to use our resources and talents to support our ministries and missions.
You can make financial pledges online (wsmethodist.org/giving) or by completing the Estimate of Giving and returning it to the church or mailing it to the church office (Attn: Business Administrator, Washington Street UMC, 1401 Washington Street, Columbia, SC 29201). You can make Time and Talent commitments by filling out the enclosed Ministry Menu and returning it to the church office.
On Sunday, November 8, to conclude our Love, Serve and Lead Campaign, we will gather in Threatt Hall immediately after the service of worship to enjoy a meal together. I hope you will join us.
Please reach out to us if you have any questions. Thank you for committing your time, talents, and resources for next year. You are appreciated.
With Gratitude,
Jay Parmley | Stewardship Chair
Rev. Becky Shirley | Senior Pastor
