WSUMC Kindness Campaign: Do Unto Others
“Do unto others as you would have them do unto you; for this is the law and the prophets.” (Matthew 7:12)
John Wesley is famously attributed with saying: “Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can.”
Jesus would have agreed with this admonition, for it is precisely what Jesus meant when he stated what has become known as “The Golden Rule”, namely “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”
As we seek to live more fully and faithfully as disciples of Jesus Christ, our 2025 Stewardship team has prepared a “Kindness Menu” listing a variety of ways we can use the time and talent God has blessed us with to engage in kind and caring acts of service.
We invite you to join us in spreading kindness this year by prayerfully considering how you can use your time and talent in volunteer ministries designed to share the love, hope, peace and joy of Christ with others. You can view and complete a copy of the Kindness Menu by clicking on the link below and downloading the 2025 Kindness Menu. Once you have completed the menu, please bring or mail it to the church office (1401 Washington Street, Columbia, SC 29201).
The ongoing ministries of kindness supported by Washington Street UMC, depend on the generous commitment of time, talent, and financial gifts of individuals like you. To make a financial gift to the ongoing ministries of kindness, please click on the link labeled “2025 Financial Pledge/Gifts” and follow the instructions on that page.
Thank you for being part of the kindness revolution making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world!
