WSUMC Responds to Recent Vandalism

In the early morning of April 14, someone vandalized WSUMC’s Black Lives Matter banner. It was placed on the fence facing Bull Street to celebrate Black History Month. With the recent racial unrest, the church decided to leave the banner up to show the support of the movement sweeping our country as injustices continue to make headlines. The banner was cut, partially taking out some of the word “black” in the statement “All Lives Can’t Matter Until Black Lives Matter”. The incident was caught on cameras that face the parking lot, although the image was blurry.

A replacement banner has been ordered and will be rehung upon its arrival.
