DIRECTOR OF CONGREGATIONAL CARE: As many of you already know, the role of Director of Congregational Care position will be dissolved at Washington Street as of March 31. Please join SPRC in thanking Susan Culler for her many years of dedication and service in that role. She will be missed. We are grateful for her time spent with us in caring for our congregation. Please consider stopping by her office during the week to say goodbye and/or drop a card of appreciation in her box. Thank you Susan, for giving us three wonderful years of service and commitment!
HOUSING NEEDED FOR CLERGY STUDENT INTERN: Washington Street will have a summer clergy intern who is a student from the Boston area. She will be working with Nikki Ulmer and Pastor Patricia for ten weeks over the summer to assist with children and youth programs. She will have her own transportation, but we are asking if anyone in the congregation is interested in offering housing to her while she is here. Please contact Kel Jansen or Patricia Parrish at email@example.com for more details.
SUNDAY SCHOOL ATTENDANCE COUNTER:
If you are interested in helping with Sunday school attendance counting, please contact Kel Jansen. We are in need of volunteers!
PLASTIC GROCERY BAGS NEEDED: The youth are continuing to work on Operation Bedroll, turning plastic grocery bags into bedrolls for the homeless, and we need more bags! Please bring your grocery bags to the church to contribute to this important mission; they can be taken to Nikki’s office. Thank you!
PRAYER CROSSES: Prayer Crosses have been placed in the Christ Chapel and in the Sanctuary. Throughout the season of Lent, you are invited to write a prayer need for yourself or others on a slip of purple paper found near the cross and tuck it into the cross. No one will read them or collect them. They are to remain there until the end of the season when they will be disposed of without reading.
PRAYER REQUESTS: If you want the pastor or one of the prayer groups to join you in prayer for any need, please complete a PRAYER REQUEST CARD found in the pew racks. Those cards are received for prayer each week through the offering plates or by handing them to the pastor or one of the ushers.
BIKES FOR THE WORLD: Bikes for the World is an international bicycle charity that ships used bikes to low-income families across the world. Our SC Conference has challenged our youth to collect 1,200 bicycles and $12,000. We are happy to support our District goal of $1,000 and 100 bicycles through our Pennies for Lent. Some of the bicycles will be distributed in Greenville and Anderson while the balance will be sent overseas where many of our clergy have no transportation. If you want to make a special donation to Bikes for the World, please indicate that designation on your check or envelope or through our online giving opportunities.
