Worship is alive and vibrant at Washington Street.
Our weekly worship as a congregation is at the core of forming, shaping, and guiding us for mission and ministry in the world. It is the vessel where disciples are formed, shaped, and then sent out to serve.
Come join us, and come ready to have God transform your life in ways you might not even begin to imagine!
Sunday 9:00 am – Traditional Worship in Christ Chapel
Sunday 11:00 am – Traditional Worship in the Sanctuary
Members of the congregation are invited and encouraged to get involved in the varied worship ministries at Washington Street:
Ushers: Our ushers assist visitors in finding their way around the church campus, lead us in the movements of our worship services, help answer questions, and provide assistance. Volunteers join either the 9:00 a.m. service team or the 11:00 a.m. service team. Ushers may also serve at special services as well as funerals/memorial services.
Acolytes: Acolytes carry the light of Christ into the sanctuary as we begin worship, and they carry the light of Christ out into the world at the end of our worship service. Acolytes may also help with Communion. Our acolyte ministry is for children in 3rd grade and up. They serve week by week at the 11:00 a.m. worship service. Acolytes may also serve at special services, like Christmas Eve, Holy Week and special services in Christ Chapel.
Crucifer (Cross Bearer): The Crucifer carries the Processional Cross into the sanctuary at the beginning of our worship services, and he or she carries the Cross out as we follow Christ into the world. The Crucifer serves week by week at the 11:00 a.m. worship service.
Altar Guild: The people who serve on Altar Guild take great care in setting the Altar for the celebration of Communion, making sure that the paraments reflect the season of the church year, and helping set the sanctuary for special services. The Altar Guild is divided into teams that serve for one month at a time.
